Vintage AV2H Electric Guitar. Vintage guitars are designed and their manofacture closely scrutinised by the highly respected luthier Trevor Wilkinson. There is therefore extremely close monitoring of every instrument and the quality is exceptionally high.
The AV2H construction is based on the classic single cutaway instrument design however with the following great features.
The top is made of maple but with a flame maple veneer on an alder body with an acoustic chamber and a bound f hole. This together with through body stringing creates a highly resonant sound that is an essential ingredient of this type of guitar. They ring like a bell !.
The neck is of maple and bubinga with a rosewood fingerboard and is bolted on to the body in the original way.The guitar features 2 of the highly effective Trev Wilkinson WHHB humbuckers together with a ‘Roll Control’ (Humbucker to Single Coil) thus creating the twang or the the thicker classic sounds simply by rolling back on the roll control. This is a highly versatile guitar that entirely fits the bill for its class
SpecificationThe Vintage Advance AV2H is a single cutaway bolt-on neck style guitar, featuring classic tone woods in all the right places. Acoustically chambered American Alder bodies with solid maple top, enhanced with a double-stained flame maple veneer. The addition of a bound ‘F’ hole gives even more tonal resonance.
AV2HNF and the AV2HHF have satin finish hard maple necks and smooth ‘tight grain’ Indian rosewood fingerboards, for optimum playability, and also features the unique Bubinga heel extension, providing enhanced mechanical coupling between the neck and body, producing increased sustain and definition.
Through-body stringing and the intonation compensated (specially shortened) 3-saddle WT3S bridge deliver all the string response to get maximum ‘twang’ associated with this style of instrument.
Wilkinson ‘high output’ WHHB humbucking pickups retain the Rock attitude, and can be rolled back to single coil operation utilising the ‘Roll Control’. The unique upper bout thumb cutaway greatly assists top fret access, creating a most versatile rock guitar, with some real tone and attitude when you need it!
