Vintage AV2S3 Electric Guitar. Vintage guitars are designed and their manofacture closely scrutinised by the highly respected luthier Trevor Wilkinson. There is therefore extremely close monitoring of every instrument and the quality is exceptionally high.
The AV2S3 construction is based on the classic single cutaway instrument design however with the following great features.
The neck is a high access maple satin finish with a bubinga heel extension that greatly improves the tranfer of resonance between the body and neck. This together with an American alder chambered body and through body stringing creates a highly resonant sound that is an essential ingredient of this type of guitar. They ring like a bell !.
The guitar features 3 traditional single coil pickups thus offering some extra variation to the traditional 2 pick up design. This is a highly versatile guitar that entirely fits the bill for its class
SpecificationThe Vintage Advance AV2S offers a new slant on a classically-styled single cutaway guitar, featuring a 'high access' bolt-on, satin finished maple neck with 22 fret Indian rosewood fingerboard. The unique Bubinga heel extension provides enhanced mechanical coupling between the neck and body, producing increased sustain and definition.
The subtly offset body is constructed from acoustically chambered American alder, giving extra depth and breadth to the resonance and additional personality to the tone. Through-body stringing and an intonation-compensated 3-saddle Wilkinson WTB bridge deliver all the string response associated with this style of instrument.
The AV2S guitars deliver optimum playability, and feature a variety of useable pickup configurations, plus guitars equipped with the Wilkinson WVC humbucking pickup in the neck position can be rolled back to single coil mode using the Vintage ‘Roll Control’, whilst the 3 x single coil option offers various additional tonal options. The AV2S is a terrifically versatile ‘country to rock’ style guitar, with some real tone in its twang.
