The Fret Music Academy is situated at the premises of Fret Music in Church St, Shirley, Southampton in Hampshrie. Fret Music has been established for over 30 years and is a vibrant, very busy rock and acoustic music shop that has grown to be a central part of the Southampton area music scene. The facilities are situated above the shop and include guitar, bass, drums and recording techniques tuition.
The teachers have a friendly professional approach and recognise that’s it’s all about what you the customer want. All players have their own particular individual way of learning with their own individual requirements. Some may wish a formal approach with reading some just learning a few riffs. It’s your call. Age is not a consideration. We don't care if you are eighty or eight, male or female, all are welcome. The Fret Academy is genuinely 'Music For All'.
Customers are welcome to try out instruments and equipment during their lessons and are entitled to extra discount on any purchases. We try to encourage our students to play together and form musical partnerships. To this end we hold the “Rock the Shop” evening on the last Monday of the month where bands are mentored by the teachers. This is also a great opportunity to network and socialise with other musicians. All players are welcome to these events.
As a student of the Fret Music Academy you will be entitled to extra discount and privileges not available to others. When you buy any electric guitar, acoustic guitar, bass guitar or drum kit from us you are entitled to a free music lesson! This could be a taster session for the beginner or a master class in advanced technique
