  Godin Electric Guitars

Established in 1982, Canadian guitar makers 'Godin' divide their electric guitars into 2 sections; Performance and Signature.

Their electric guitars are primarily mid-range to top-of the-line which are made of high-quality wood from the northeastern part of North America. They have many models that feature synth pickups and some with piezo pickup-equipped bridges. Godin are notable for their use of synthesizer pickups as a standard feature in their high end models, and many use piezo-acoustic pickups integrated with the bridge assembly. Aside from their technical innovations, Godin has a strong reputation among guitarists for their product quality. Most Godin guitars have the same distinctive, yet traditional, body shape, which has been described as a hybrid of the Gibson Les Paul and Fender Telecaster bodies.

The Godin guitars are the product of great craftsmanship tradition combined with the best new technologies and true passion for the guitar art.

Here at Fret Music we are proud to present these fine pieces, part of Performance, Redline and Signature series of Godin electric guitars. For all of you fine guitar lovers there are plenty of options to choose from: Maple or Mahogany bodies, stylish finishes with Rosewood, Maple or Mahogany necks and fingerboards, numerous pickups configurations and some of the proven electronic gadgetry.

History in the making

The history of Godin guitars started over twenty years ago in a Canadian village called La Patrie. The founder Robert Godin still owns the company and designs most of the guitars.

Godin guitars are pride Canadians based in Montreal but their guitars are built in six factories from Quebec to New Hampshire, USA.

Godin electric guitars started as part suppliers to other guitar companies but soon got into the big league producing necks and bodies for many famous guitar makers. As you can see, they didn't stop there.

The Basics

The Godin electric guitars are created to sound great even when unplugged. The sound that you hear coming from the unplugged guitar will be the sound that pickups send to amplifiers.

The secret to why these beauties have such a great acoustic sound is carefully handpicked materials they are made of. The Godin guitars are built from the finest pieces of Maple and Rosewood growing in north-east Canada. The kind of cold climate they have in this region makes the growing season shorter resulting in much denser grade of maple.

The wood is treated with utmost care and final touches are always done by hand. That's why no matter where they're assembled Godin guitars keep the same quality originating from their Canadian home.

The modern touch

However conservative in regards to quality of the materials and craftsmanship, when it comes to making these fine instruments sound powerful Godin electric guitars are equipped with some of the best pieces of technology known to modern guitar making. If it's a humbucker or a single coil, Godin guitars are using state of the art pickups mostly of their own making. The Godin pickups are very well sealed to reduce static noise and perfectly balanced to get the absolutely stable sound. If you want to up your game, choose one of Godin electric guitars with High-Definition Revoicer. It will bring your passive pickups to the active side of life. This little technological gem is not created to be a boost but to spice things up giving more bite and edge to the sound. You'll feel like you have two guitars.

Choosing a guitar is like you're inviting a new friend into your life. If you befriend one of the Godin electric guitars you'll soon find out that his noble instrument comes with a personality. And this personality is the exact reason why the blues sounds blue, the soul - soulful and the rock'n'roll... well... like rock'n'roll.
