Fret Music was established in 1980 and moved to its present premises in 1981. The building has been completely renovated and extended to approximately 4000 sq. ft. over the past twenty years and is now one of the biggest well stocked stores of its type in the South of England. The store has specific departments dealing with Electric Guitars, Acoustic Guitars, Bass Guitars, Amplification, PA, Effects and Drums & Percussion. These sections are stocked in depth and the displays are fully proactive. To ensure fast supply these displays are supported with massive stocks in our onsite storage facility. Musicians work in the store to ensure you receive the best advice. We have an extensive service department for guitar and amplification repair. As members of the Music Industries Association we are able to offer interest free credit with the “Take It Away” scheme co promoted by the Arts Council.

We have been trading with most of them since we opened 28 years ago. We are also able to offer a comprehensive equipment hire service.

The Fret Music Academy in co-operation with ADW Musictech offers a superb quality of tuition in Guitar, Bass and Drums. Musictech have been located at Fret since 1990 and is the most successful guitar and bass tuition facility in the South. We have two on site drum teachers.

The store is open from 10.00am to 5.30pm from Monday to Saturday.
